We made an impromptu decision to go back home for a month. The last time we went home was 4.5 years ago. Since the trip was made at the very last minute, we didn’t make any major travel plans, apart from flying back home. Our primary purpose was to visit immediate family members and relatives. That said, our trip was rather packed and hectic at times. The process of coordinating who, where and when to visit was incredibly challenging due to our tight timelines, but we managed to see most folks, even for a short while. We spent the first half of our trip in my hometown and the remaining half in Angelina’s hometown.
We discovered that one of my cousins, Siew Lee, and her family made the same trip from US to Malaysia. In fact, unbeknownst to us, they were on our flight from Narita, Japan to Singapore, sitting four rows in front of us. It was one of those rare moments where the sun, moon and stars aligned, which made the overall trip rather special and memorable. We had an opportunity to meet them at Changi Airport in Singapore during our departure where we took the same flight from Singapore to Narita, Japan. From Narita, we took different flights to our final destinations. The last time I met Siew Lee in person was more than 20 years ago.
This album contains miscellaneous shots captured during our stay in my hometown and its vicinity.
