Fall Colors in Forestville State Park

We made a last-minute trip to Forestville State Park because we have never been to this state park yet. It was about an hour drive from our place. The GPS apparently brought us there through some hidden paths that include lots of driving on the gravel roads. We reached a closed bridge that we couldn’t drive through, so we parked right at the bridge and began our hikes. The fall colors were a little past peak in the park. Nevertheless, it was still a nice hike. There were quite a few folks who brought and rode their horses along the trails. One of the horses we encountered went nuts because it was spooked by my tripod, but the owner managed to guide the horse past us safely. We hiked in Forestville State Park for several hours before heading to Lanesboro for dinner… a great way to spend our weekend afternoon.
